With its imposing Cathedral as a centrepiece, the historic quarter
of Girona comes alive for the annual Temps de Flors (Catalan), or
‘Flower Time’. Following a numbered map, locals and tourists alike
are invited to discover subterranean cisterns and caverns, cloisters,
hidden courtyards, museums and parks, transformed by sculptural
installations – some suspended, others for a birds-eye view – as
creativity comes to the fore and ‘modern and ancient’ combine,
resulting in enchanting surprises.

A beautiful festival, well presented by you, Vivienne.

Denis Wilson.
Thanks Denis, hope you are having a lovely autumn. Thought of you this morning as I discovered tiny crimson orchids I’ve never seen before, I am pressing wildflowers so took a sample to look up… amazing what appears when we have time ‘really look’… have to be so careful tip-toeing through the field at the moment as it is smothered in flowers, love Vivienne xx (hello to George and Robertson)
So much wonderful creativity! Love the cascading phalaenopsis, the excavated baths, and the still life displays 🙂
Dear Pugland, Thank you for embellishing on ‘orchids’, phaleanopsis sounds so much better, my vocabulary stops at cymbidiums although I did illustrate a paphiopedilum once! Love to you all, Vivienne
Fabulous!
Hi Anne, I hope your boots have had time to dry out… looking at your blog with a knowing smile as you describe the same weather conditions… it was glorious (finally!) this morning and it’s time to light the fire again… love the sound of your wild salsa, we certainly have nettles growing well. Girona was a nice change, and warm enough for icecream… Warm wishes from Vivienne (will send the sun whenit comes back)
