A windy Sunday

A windy Sunday

Sunday 3rd July. I am watching a tiny lizard scuttle along the edge of the terrace wall. The umbrella is in place and lunch has finished cooking on the bbq: grilled courgettes, slices of potato brushed with olive oil and chicken brochette.. served with tzatziki and baba ganoush… followed by strawberries and goat’s cheese… accompanied by a crisp Languedoc rosé. I am listening to a French/Spanish compilation CD and can still hear the river below, and birdsong, above. Life is good, I can’t help but think. My day started at the coast… the road lined with oleander in full flower, the slopes of Canigou tinged blue in the hazy light. It is so calm here, the light breeze keeps the intense heat at bay while the beach was windy in comparison…

Walking along the Tech

Walking along the Tech

I am still not sure where the month went! There were many swims; in the local pool, the Mediterranean and the wonderful Tech river. We travelled to Provence and fed turtles. Festivities are such a part of daily life that I don’t even take photos.

July is a month of simple pleasures – mostly spent outdoors, eating fresh local produce and enjoying nature… with long balmy evenings and a wide choice of entertainment…
