As the intense heat abates, I have been ‘thinking of trees’. A forest is so precious when we need respite, providing welcome shade and fresh air. The walls of a town or city, roads, concrete, stone, all magnify the effect of heat and it is nature we turn to to bring relief… bathing in cooling waters, enjoying a breeze, or the protective shelter of a canopy of leaves.
