There are certain observances if one is to integrate into French life, or more precisely, live with a French partner. The first rule is ‘never forget the bread’ (necessary for every meal), and perhaps I think, close on its heels, ‘make sure the fromage is out of the fridge before a meal’, so it can warm to room temperature.
