Panier of Plenty

Bonjour Sophie

A must-have for every French child, Sophie la Girafe has
joined the menagerie and has been duly embraced as a friend.
Born in 1961, this iconic childrens toy and teething aid has
accompanied generations of babies. I have been reading the
history of her naissance, as I was informed we were bound to
be given one – another aspect of French culture that had until
now, escaped me.

On behalf of Célestine, ‘un grand merci’ to everyone who has
sent gifts or visited bearing surprises – all lovingly wrapped
and carefully chosen or hand-made – she has had a wonderful
warm welcome to this world.
